Creative Brand Strategist

Wendy is passionate about the intersection between urban experience and brand identity. Since 2006 she has put this passion into practice as the Founder of OpenCity Projects, a creative lab that aims to improve city experiences through research, community engagement and blogging on best practices. She has been a regular lecturer on placemaking at OCAD University and, in 2009, she was selected as a rising city leader for the DiverseCity Fellowship.

Wendy also brings more than fifteen years of experience as a creative brand strategist. She is currently Principal of Gold Brand Consulting, delivering marketing and design strategy to clients in North America and Europe. Prior to Gold Brand, Wendy worked in senior strategy roles at global branding and design firms including Desgrippes Gobé New York and Landor Associates in the New York and San Francisco offices. She has advised clients, ranging from start-ups to Fortune 100 companies, on brand strategy including BP, Intel, Johnson & Johnson OneTouch, Kobo eReader, Sanofi and Travelocity.

Wendy holds a Master’s in Journalism from the University of Western Ontario and an Honours Bachelor’s degree in French Literature from McGill University. She has received awards from the AIGA, British Design & Art Direction Annual and the CLIOs.
