The IwB is heading to Eastpointe, MI!
The Eastpointe Charrette: Rethinking the Commons
Monday, October 27th to Thursday, October 30th
Eastpointe City Hall
How do we reimagine the commons to create a contemporary city based on the principles of resilience, inclusivity and desirability?
The IwB students, faculty, and staff are heading to Eastpointe, MI for a four-day charrette. Working in multidisciplinary, international teams, charrette participants will look at ways to make Eastpointe a more inclusive community.
We’ll be looking at four themes: rethinking the use of the boulevard and connecting and activating key public spaces; redeveloping sites for strategic repurposing to attract investment; activating the downtown core and enhancing Eastpointe’s identity; and strengthening local and regional connectivity.
The charrette will be run in partnership with The City of Eastpointe and Lawrence Technological University (LTU).
Stay tuned for more on this charrette!
