OurDublin is the culmination of the 2012/2013 IwB students’ academic year. It is an ambitious systems solution for the design and delivery of city services. Inspired by global initiatives that empower residents to become more engaged in civic life, the students designed OurDublin as a people-powered process, addressing the needs of residents and government, together.
Through an integrated system of three participatory programs (Sense It, See It, and Make It), the students leveraged the power of technology to encourage, facilitate and increase public dialogue, deliberation, organization and action around a wide variety of city challenges. Beyond Dublin, the students hoped this proposal could serve as inspiration for cities around the world, showcasing the power and potential of collaborative city-building.
